The causes of dyshidrotic eczema are not known.  However, a number of irritants are assumed to trigger the condition.  Therefore, avoiding these irritants can ease the symptoms of occasional flare-ups.  Many people have there own list and by know means should you only follow these tips, but just take them into consideration as you make your own choices on what you as an individual should avoid for your individual case of eczema on your hands and feet.

- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, teas, and carbonated beverages in the diet.

- Avoid foods high nickel content, such as cocoa, chocolate, whole grains, canned foods and nuts.

- Avoid metal computer keyboards and track pads which contain nickel.

- Avoid hand sanitizing products that contain alcohol.

- Avoid latex gloves

- Apply ointment to affected areas but only thinly to allow the skin to “breathe”.

- void scratching as it can lead to thick, irritated skin that can be more difficult to treat and heal. Also, the more you scratch the more blisters will appear.

- Use unbleached cotton gloves to cover the hands to prevent scratching.

- Air dry rather than towel dry your skin. Or gently pad your skin instead of scrubbing.

- Use a pH balanced soap that is mild and free from fragrances

- Avoid emotional stress whenever possible.. <———— I know “ya Right” uh? Trust me all of us who have eczema naturally now have stress. I am going to be writing more on this topic in the future. If you would be interested in writing a story, article or even just some advice on the subject of stress as it applies to eczema please contact me personally at this email: info@pompholyxeczema.com

Living with any kind of skin disease is not easy, Embrassement and isolation can follow if one is unable to control the situation. It’s extremely important for everyone to seek a treatment plan and keep doing your own research that pertains to your own particular situation. It can be controlled I have no doubht in that, but it is up to us who have it to help teach and learn from eachother in order to keep each and everyone of us stable and not stressed. - Justin Snyder ( blog -admin.)
